UNI | THE 3 THINGS I'LL MISS THE MOST

With my third year being in almost full swing now, and the word dissertation looming just that little bit more also comes the thoughts of what the heck I'm going to do when it's all over. Which lead me to thinking about what I'll miss most when it's all done and dusted.

  1. So, first things first, I'll miss my best friends. Katherine and Monique aka my little chickens. I didn't come to uni expecting to meet two better people. Firstly Kat whose put up with me from day dot and then Mon who was the best friend we didn't know we needed till she ended up moving in with us in second year. Even the thought of us this time next year not living together makes me want to cry. So yes, seeing my favourite lil chickens everyday will be one of the things I miss most.
  2. The freedom. Moving away from home is weird, you're just one day fully independent - no having to do the dishwasher or be forced into walking the dogs. So yeah freedom to do whatever I want whenever is up there.
  3. The spontaneity. I'm going to miss the random nights that myself, Kat and Mon share in the kitchen. With us trying to be nice to each other for 5 minutes and not lasting 5 seconds, to the random dancing and singing and all those girly chats. I'll also miss the spontaneous trips to the pub, and the random last minute decision to get drunk playing card games in Harry's room on any day of the week (come back Harry).
So there we have it. The three things I'm not quite sure how I'm going to live without when uni is officially done.

LIFE | THE STRUGGLES OF DISCONNECTING FROM THE INTERNET

It's 2017 and if we're being real everyone struggles to disconnect from the internet. For it's our lives and it's what we do with our time. How on earth do we fill the void of looking at our phones? Can we?

I think with checking social media being a very routine thing to do, which we do all day long, it now seems strange and slightly impossible to disconnnect from it. When I say that, I mean have a day, a week, a month, with none of it, don't have a peep at Instagram, don't refresh that Twitter feed (a hundred times waiting for something new) and don't bother watching the never-ending reel of snapchat and insta stories.

STYLE | MAKING A CASUAL DAY LOOK READY FOR THE BIG CITY

Hello lovelies!

This style post was one of my favourite to shoot I think the city location was partly to do with it as well as a newly found love for this specific outfit.

Soooooo, it was another hot day (which are now a thing of the past) and I wanted to keep it casual to go about Cambridge in yet sometimes I do like dressing up an outfit a little. I also knew I wanted to wear this incredible frilly cropped, Topshop jacket which can be found here and costs £45. Since pairing this with a pair of light denim mom jeans in the past I knew that for Summer days pairing the jacket with light denim is lush but it was a tad hot for jeans so went for this Forever 21 denim skirt (which isn't available online anymore).

Still wanting to keep the jacket as the statement of the outfit I decided to pair it with a simple white jersey vest which is also from Topshop and can be found here. Wanting to keep it simple and casual so the whole outfit isn't too dressy and just let the jacket do all the work!

I think this outfit is perfect for strolling round a city shopping etc and it's fast become one of my favourite summer day outfits!

LIFE | TIPS ON FINDING YOUR CONFIDENCE

Hello all!

So today's post is all about confidence (if you hadn't figured by the title...). For me confidence was never a thing that I had, I knew that and accepted it. I think it wasn't till just before I went to uni that I actually began to feel 'confident' - thank god.

Confidence for different people can mean different things and therefore defined by different things. For me confidence is positive feelings towards myself, my body and mainly a belief within yourself, which in turn makes me more 'able' to do more things.

HOW TO | FIND INSPIRATION AND PLAN BLOG POSTS

Hello allll,

Today's post is about how I plan my blog posts and where/how I find the inspiration for them. Which I figured could maybe be a little helpful to other bloggers.

Inspiration
1. I think similar to every other blogger a lot of my inspiration comes from actually reading loads of different blogs and then naturally when you enjoy reading something you want to do your take of it. So mostly, I get my ideas from other bloggers amazing-ness.
2. Secondly, I find sitting there thinking about what stuff I want to know/read about helps.
3. Thirdly I get a lot of my inspiration for my blog through just living. For example, I do my LIFE series because with enjoying photography it gives me a space to put out those photos(the ones that don't make it to my Instagram...). As well as that, with living naturally you have opinions and stories on things you've experienced and therefore may want to write about that.

Planning
Whilst I have my notebook to scribble down all the ideas I get actually then getting around to taking photos and writing up the post is the time consuming part. So this is what I do to ensure the ideas actually get used!

1. I firstly priortise what posts I want more of, for me STYLE posts are my favourite and the most time consuming so once I have outfits in mind when I have time I make it my priority to snap it and write it up.
2. I'm actually a lil' OCD with having a good backup of blog posts in my drafts (when it gets under 8 posts I start to panic). I know that is a lot but it 100% makes it easier for when/if I'm super busy and don't get around to taking photos for awhile. So a good suggestion is when you have time be as productive as you can so then you don't need to rush them when you don't have time!

There we have it a few little ways to help find inspiration and plan  blog posts!
Till next time x

LIFE | GET TO KNOW ME

1. Are you named after anyone?
No, just me, myself and I.

2. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
ALL THE TIME. Sarcasm is basically my sense of humour so if you don't get sarcasm we got issues.

3. What's the first thing you notice about people?
I haven't actually thought about this before but it's probably what they're wearing.

4. Scary movie or happy ending?
Happy ending every time, I never watch scary movies as they are literally the worst.

5. Do you have any pets?
Two Cairn terriers Monty and Rommy (who are the cutest little things but also the naughtiest). Not having them at uni with me is legit the worst thing about it.

6. One thing you've been meaning to do?
Cut my hair shorter but part of me is terrified but I will do it soon!

8. A bad habit you have?
Eating sweets, I have such a sweet tooth its unreal. My dentist hates me.

9. What's unique about you?
I think the most obvious thing is my birthmark on my right arm, which I was obviously born with...I don't ever notice it but I suppose people who don't know me do. So yeah the red patches on my arm? only a port wine stain don't be alarmed.

So there we have it, some really useless facts about me but nonetheless I hope you enjoyed!

STYLE | OUT FOR BRUNCH

 Hello lovelies!

Today's post is a simple outfit post of what I wore to 'brunch' the other day. I have to admit that I have to thank my mum for half of this outfit which I'm a lil' obsessed with, seeing as when clearing out her wardrobe I took the shoes, bag and jacket (which are to dieee for).

STYLE | A FLORAL FLING

Hello alllll!

Today's outfit is another of my favourites for warmer days, the jumpsuit is from Topshop and I want to wear it all the time! Typically I never used to really wear floral clothes, finding it to be a bit 'too girly' but since deciding to go out of my comfort zone and wearing more of whatever I want, this has fast become one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe.

PLAYLIST | JUNE 17'

If we take it back to one of the many times I've attempted to stick to blogging and failed you'll find a post called 'PLAYLIST | JANUARY 15', two years later and writing 17' in the box above suddenly made me wanna cry that somehow two years have passed since writing it...Anyway, two years later music is literally my favourite thing ever so I wanna start having a go at this 'PLAYLIST' series again.

So, what are my current favourites?

HARRY STYLES - CAROLINA

Clearly a given this chap would be on here...I'd be lying if I said I didn't have his first solo album on repeat since it came out, but my favourite song on the album, 'Carolina' I actually wasn't that big of a fan of until maybe the 100th time listening.

PARAMORE - AFTER LAUGHTER

Paramore releasing a new album made 14/15 year old me extremely happy and its safe to say I love it. Watching Zane Lowe's interview with the new trio also made me love the songs even more so if you're a fan I'd recommend giving that a watch. Anyway, my favourite song on the album can't be put down to one so Forgiveness, Fake Happy and 26 are up there (yes the dreary ones).

TOM GRENNAN - SOMETHING IN THE WATER

This song I love, and one reason for that could be because I'm definitely one for an acoustic song and this ticks that box for certain, so if you're the same go give this a listen.

HAIM - WANT YOU BACK

Who doesn't know HAIM? if you just thought 'no I don't' then go give this a listen, it's such a feel good song and after not really being a big fan of them it's made me very excited to hear what they release next.
